ORION vs. Atlas:   Which should you choose?

The specific requirements of your application will dictate whether ORION or Atlas is the more appropriate choice for you:

When would you use:

Atlas ORION
  • If you have a library of tests to automate that includes but is not limited to model-based calibration: Atlas provides greater flexibility
  • If you prefer full control of the user experience; Atlas has all the display capability of iTest, A&D's standard data acquisition and control software.
  • If you are familiar with VCL, building tests in Atlas will be "comfortable".
  •  If your DAC system is limited, Atlas will handle all the functionality necessary, such as enhanced logging.
  •  If your CAS system is not connected to your DAC system, you can connect it directly to Atlas and use knock data as part of the test.
  • If you prefer to take advantage of built-in procedures, the Standard Actions are very intelligent and are the result of many years of calibration experience.
  • If you would like to simplify the user experience, the Measurement Application (MA) in the test cell is pre-defined, based on the action being executed.
  • If you have a full-featured DAC system, ORION is optimized to take full advantage of these features and get your application up and running quickly
