RedLine CAS is the first combustion analysis system designed from the ground up for integration with other intelligent systems. The VME/VXI architecture eliminates the timing and performance issues that have made it so difficult to share large blocks of data between systems.
RedLine CAS is available in one of three possible hardware packages: individual modules to integrate into your current chassis, a VME or VXI chassis with modules installed, or a complete system configured into a roll-around instrumentation console.

RedLine CAS Options
Real-Time Combustion Processor
The V4344 real-time combustion processor provides four times the processing power of one processor used in ACAP, our first-generation combustion analysis system. Using a multiprocessing architecture, the V4344 can be expanded by plugging in additional co-processor modules to provide added computational power when needed.

The options listed below are not required for the function of your CAS system, but the addition of one or more of these options will significantly enhance its performance.

System Memory
System Memory can be expanded from the standard 2M samples to 4M samples. Additional system memory provides more capacity for logging calculated parameters. With the system memory expansion CAS can log over 100,000 calculated values.
SODEP II
SODEP II is a general-purpose encoder signal conditioner designed primarily for incremental and quadrature encoders mounted on engines for combustion analysis. SODEP II, which is mounted near the encoder, provides high quality signal isolation, conditioning, and transmission circuits to eliminate many errors.

4344/RTP Coprocessor and Knock Analysis Coprocessor
The 4344 RTP and Knock Analysis Processor are small modules designed to plug into the 4344 Real-Time Combustion Processor module increasing the computational power of the CAS system. One 4344/RTP module is shipped when ordering the Knock Analysis option for CAS. Each 4344 RTP module includes a high-speed digital signal processor and mounting hardware to secure it to the main processor board.
Charge Amplifier Pod
The 8-channel V1108 Charge Amplifier takes the charge signals from the piezoelectric pressure transducer, converts them to voltages and amplifies them to a level that can be used by the rest of the system. When used with the RedLine CAS signal conversion electronics, the combined system will perform advanced functions such as Autotracking and Pegging. Autotracking virtually eliminates the intercycle drift typical to high impedance charge output transducers, and pressure pegging allows referenced pressure measurements to be made. These features provide the user with more reliable and accurate test data.
Raw Memory Expansion
CAS can be configured to record the digitized signal or raw data for any device connected to one of its input channels. The standard CAS system includes 8M samples of memory, which will store up to 500 cycles worth of raw data from 16 channels. To support recording more data, the raw memory can be upgraded to 72M samples to record up to 5000 cycles of data. A 192M sample option is also available that will allow up to 15000 engine cycles of data to be recorded.
Encoder
The RLH25 is a one-degree shaft encoder that includes the cable and connector assembly. The shaft is stainless steel, with die-cast aluminum housing and cover. The RLH25 uses 40-pound ABEC7 bearings with 12,000rpm maximum speed, and is EMI shielded.
Crank-Angle Coprocessor
A plug-in crank angle coprocessor increases encoder resolution to a maxiumum of 0.1 degree. When used with the SODEP encoder signal conditioner, it will process 36x, 58x and many other crank position sensor signals.
