The iTest system is the central control system in a modern Powertrain test cell. In this function it executes a predefined test schedule by coordinating the dynamometer and throttle systems, along with data acquisition from sensors on the test article or in-cell instruments. iTest achieves this level of functionality through an intuitive configuration editor and user-friendly operator GUI, while employing international standards for connectivity to the test cell instruments. The operator can select from a library of test cycles based on testing standards from North American, European or Asian governing organizations.

iTest GUI

The Automation Console software provides a powerful graphical user interface (GUI) that runs in a Windows environment. The GUI provides access to the screen definition tools both in the test building environment and during run time.

Test Manager

The Test Manager provides a powerful environment for developing test configurations that will guide the test during runtime. In designing a test, development engineers have a variety of options, from simply selecting from a list of pre-defined modules corresponding to the in-cell instruments, to writing script-driven routines.

A&D has developed a modular system for adding test cell instruments or test cycles to a base application. Modules contain command sets specific to the instruments in use, with common commands used by a common test. This allows a single test to be used with a variety of instrument modules in different test cells, streamlining the test development process.

Test Modules

iTest Application Modules are designed to integrate a wide variety of thrid-party devices and tests into a test cell.   They contain the necessary application code to remotely control these devices.

Runtime Software

The iTest system provides a fast, reliable environment for controlling the dynamometer and throttle settings in a coordinated manner. The runtime system will monitor defined parameter limits and coordinate a variety of actions on test cell instruments. All test data is available in a standard Windows format.
