Overview
The CAS workshop is a dynamic, integrated workshop that highlights real-time internal combustion engine analysis and related data acquisition. Instruction is designed for new users of CAS who have a working knowledge of Windows terms and functions. The workshop is essential for people who need to analyze the combustion process in much greater detail than ever before. Participants will learn the basics of combustion analysis, how to acquire accurate, reliable and repeatable test data, and how to display and plot real time data. The course will benefit test cell operators, engineers and instrumentation technicians of all experience levels, and test lab managers or supervisors responsible for technical support and planning.
Objectives
- Identify combustion analysis basics, including terminology
- Identify CAS hardware and software components and features
- Define signals and configure devices
- Explain pegging and auto tracking procedures
- Build tests using CAS Test Define
- Set up real-time combustion data screen displays
- Run tests and take data
- Generate reports, review, and print automatic and manual test configurations
- Log real-time and raw combustion data to disk for post-test processing
- Analyze data with DSPPlot
